HCK5D
Hansen's heavy-duty, gas-powered 2-step suction
stop valves are self-equalizing and include
a delayed opening feature after defrost or a
power failure. The HCK5D valve provides an
internal, controlled bleed-down (equalize) circuit
which will not allow main seat to open until the
pressure across the valve is at a lower, safer
pressure differential. This is accomplished by
a unique, internal bleed-down piston design,
thereby greatly simplifying external control valve
group piping and reduces installed cost. Valves
remain normally open during refrigeration via a
spring and require no pressure drop to operate.
A higher pressure refrigerant gas closes the
valve during defrosting. If loss of power occurs
during defrost, evaporator pressure is utilized
to keep valve closed until bleed-down occurs.
HCK5D Applications
The HCK5D valve is ideally suited for low
temperature applications to positively close,
during defrost, the following: suction lines, liquid
overfeed and fl ooded evaporator gas return.
These valves can be installed in horizontal or
vertical lines and are best installed on their
sides for improved conveyance of liquid and oil.
Because they are gas-powered to close, valves
operate reliably even under viscous oil conditions.
They are suitable for Ammonia, Halocarbons,
CO2 and other Hansen approved refrigerants.
HCK2, HS9B
Hansen's heavy-duty, flanged, Gas-Powered Suction-Stop (HCK2) and Solenoid Valves (HS9B) are direct acting. Because they are gas powered, both are ideal for closure during defrost or very low temperature suction stop. These gas-powered valves have a low pressure drop, oversized ports, and ductile iron or steel bodies. Valves remain open via a spring until closed by a high-pressure gas source. For type HCK2, bleed is past the piston; for type HS9B, bleed is via remote piping and a pilot solenoid valve. Available 1 1/4" through 6" (32 mm to 150 mm) port sizes.
HCK2, HS9B Applications:
These valves are ideally suited for low-temperature applications to positively close suction lines, liquid overfeed, and flooded evaporator gas return lines, as well as gravity liquid and gas lines for defrosting. They are also ideal in place of suction solenoid valves where lower pressure drop is required. Because they are gas powered, these valves operate reliably at low temperatures and even under viscous oil conditions.
