Vari-Level® Adjustable Level Controls:

The Hansen Vari-Level Adjustable Level Control provides excellent level control and monitoring flexibility for industrial and large commercial refrigeration systems. It takes the place of multiple single point level switches on new or existing refrigerant vessels. This popular, user-friendly, and field-proven system consists of a control unit, and a probe to be inserted in a level column. Control unit models are available with up to five individual level set point relays.  Level set points and differentials can be easily set up, and then simply changed by moving knobs when necessary. A built-in level simulator enables the operator to easily check proper operation of control valves, pumps, and alarms at the various set points.  For use with ammonia, R22, R134a and other compatible refrigerants.

Vari-Level Features :

  • Accurate capacitance-type sensing
  • 0-100% LED digital display of level percentage
  • Optional 4-20 mA output
  • Probes available from 20" to 120"
(510 mm to 3050 mm) active length
  • Level set points always visible
  • 1 to 5 SPDT relay outputs
  • CSA/NRTL certified
  • Conforms to CE standards for EMI/RFI
  • "Anti-splash" dampening features

Vari-Level Applications :

The Vari-Level is ideal for level control of accumulators, receivers, intercoolers, and other vessels where precise, flexible level control is desired. It is especially well suited for pump recirculator vessels of liquid overfeed systems because the control levels and alarms/cutouts can be readily adjusted for unique system requirements or load changes.

Techni-Level® Level Transducer Probes:

These specially-designed Techni-Level Transducer Probes with 4-20 mA output are for refrigerant level control in computer operated industrial and commercial plants. All transducer electronics are compact, sealed watertight, and located on top of the probe. A 24 Volt DC power input is required. Fifty feet of two-wire cable is included with longer lengths available.  An optional 0-100% built-in digital readout is available. Probe active lengths up to 168" (4267 mm). Level columns are available from Hansen or can be field-fabricated. For use with ammonia, R22, R134a and other compatible refrigerants.

Applications:

Techni-Level Transducer Probes are an ideal solution for computer-controlled applications on vertical or horizontal vessels, pump accumulators, pilot receivers, and refrigerant loss monitoring.

Techni-Level® Level Transducer Probess

Hansen's SHP and SVP Receiver Level Transducer Probes are made especially for the monitoring of halocarbon refrigerant levels in vertical or horizontal receiver tanks. All models provide a 0 to 5 (or 1 to 6) VDC output signal proportional to level. This signal is commonly used with supermarket refrigeration system (rack) controllers, PLCs level indicators, and other various controlling devices and accessories for many purposes including refrigerant loss detection.

Input voltage is 24 VDC.  These probes insert directly into the receiver and come factory precalibrated and tested. Probe sensor has no moving parts to break, jam or fail.

Applications:

These Receiver Level Transducer Probes are designed to be inserted directly into horizontal and vertical refrigerant receivers. They facilitate the continuous accurate measurement of refrigerant liquid levels.

Single Point Level Controls

These compact Single Point Level Sensors and Switches are economical solutions for reliable and accurate level detection. They are designed to detect the presence of ammonia or halocarbon refrigerant liquid (but not oil) at a specific location in vessels containing refrigerant by capacitance-type, nonoptic sensing.

The computer-compatible, low-voltage signal output of the level sensor can be used directly with plant computers, PLC's, solid-state relays or other controllers.  The relay output from the level switch is suitable for direct connection to solenoids, alarms, and computers.

Refrigerant Float Switches:

The Hansen Refrigerant Float Switch (HLL series) is used to electrically indicate or control a liquid level by opening or closing a single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch. Its simple, reliable design provides long life performance for almost any application. To overcome the most common reason for existing float switch failure-switch burnout-a heavy-duty 10 amp snap action Honeywell Micro Switch® is used.

This switch is sealed in a clear housing to allow visual confirmation of switch action but protection from tampering. In addition, the switch is surrounded by an inert gas that provides an environment which inhibits corrosion. An optional switch housing heater prevents moisture penetration in humid environments.  These float switches have a rugged steel tank assembly and a high-strength, large diameter ball stem to eliminate potential stem bending or breakage. Hansen Refrigerant Float Switches are interchangeable with R/S LL series float switches.

Applications:
Hansen's Refrigerant Float Switches are a simple and strong mechanical solution for level control via solenoid valve, high/low level cutout or alarm, liquid transfer drum operation, level indicator via pilot light.

SEE-LEVEL® Refrigerant Liquid Indicators:

Hansen SEE-LEVEL Refrigerant Liquid Indicators provide simple indication of true liquid levels in industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. When liquid is present, the distinctive reflex lens appears dark; when no liquid is present, the lens is light. The long universal housing (steel ASME SA36) provides adequate length for ease of welding as well as insulation clearance for low-temperature applications. An optional frost shield facilitates clear viewing of liquid level under frosting conditions. Saddle milled housing is available.

Applications:

SEE-LEVEL Refrigerant Liquid Indicators provide simple indication of liquid level in refrigerant receivers, level columns, accumulators, intercoolers, suction, oil, and liquid lines. Suitable for ammonia, R22, R134a, oil, and other Hansen-approved refrigerants.
